  1. You have false impression!
    I noticed that Stockfish always is short of time and it mismanages time at the level of 5 min per game. And it loses or draws games even if it has the clear advantage.
    Try another timing e.g. 4'+2''.

  2. Yes, I noted your points, there were few games where the positions were technically draw but Stockfish lost on time. Of course in real life time is part of the game but this is abviously cannot be counted as win in terms of strength for Robbo. All I can say is Robbo has a better time management compared to Stockfish in this respect. I am running matches between Robbo and other programs on longer time controls like 15 mins and 30 mins. So will update the result once they were available.

  3. I played 6 games between Robbolito 0.09 and Stockfish 17.1, with time controls 1+1. I had autoflag off, so a game won't be won if one of the players happens to fall short (though that didn't seem to happen in the games where I was watching the time myself).

    Both Stockfish (by design) and Robbolito (because I didn't compile special endgame tables) had no access to tablebases. Rybka 3 had access to Nalimov 4 piece tablebases.

    Setup was a 32bit computer with Windows XP SP3, and Athlon X2 4000+ (dual core) processor. There was *no* attempt to balance the game by penalizing Stockfish and Rybka, which can use 2 cores whereas Robbolito cannot.

    Here are the resutls -

    Engine Score Ro Ry St S-B
    1: RobboLito_009_w32 7.0/12 ······ ==0=01 ==1=11 38.50
    2: Rybka 3 w32 5.5/12 ==1=10 ······ 0=001= 35.50
    3: Stockfish-171-32-ja 5.5/12 ==0=00 1=110= ······ 32.50

    Pretty much looks like Robbolito can mop the floor with Stockfish. Strangely Stockfish defeated Rybka 3, and Rybka 3 defeated Robbolito mostly - however Robbolito in the end emerged victorious.
